Meet Nick
EGNATZ
Nick Egnatz is a Vietnam vet, anti-war, social justice, & environmental activist who came across the question of who creates our money? His research has led him to the American Monetary Institute where he has made numerous presentations at their Annual Conferences on Monetary Reform. His pamphlet Linking Social Justice to Monetary Reform has enjoyed widespread distribution across the country and the globe. In 2007 Nick was named Northwest Indiana Citizen of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers for his anti war & social justice activism. Nick is a founding member of the Alliance for Just Money and currently serves as a trustee for the American Monetary Institute.
“I stand against inequality, injustice, hate, discrimination, and racism. I believe that publicly creating our money will increase equality, justice, love, understanding, inclusion and assimilation.”

Working to Make
Positive Change
Nick Egnatz did not start out as an activist. Instead, he listened to his elders and sadly made the same mistake our country did by participating in the misguided Vietnam War. He returned home, married and raised two wonderful children with his wife Sue. It was only after the 9/11 attacks on our democracy, that Nick turned to activism in opposition to our country making the same mistake by going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq that we had made in Vietnam.
Anti-war activism naturally leads to social justice and environmental activism. Over the last twenty-five years, Nick’s activism has included organizing and participating in a weekly Saturday vigil at the Highway of the Flags Veterans’ Memorial in Highland, Indiana from 2005 to 2020. Nick was also involved in numerous other actions in Northwest Indiana and Chicago, including Occupy Chicago, and Annual Democracy Is In the Streets Participatory Democracy Conferences at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, Indiana.
The National Association of Social Workers named Nick: Northwest Indiana Citizen of the Year 2006 for his activism. As Nick began to research the causes of war, inequality and destruction of our environment, it led him to our money system. Thus, the People, Planet & the Power of Money (PPPM) Project was born: Money Creation 101, History of Money 101 and Spaceship Earth 101. Nick has participated in and helped organize both small protests and huge marches. He has met with members of Congress and the Senate and made formal presentations at conferences, all in the interest of changing our money system so as to improve the quality of life for both our people and planet.

Family Time
Nick readily admits to having developed a passion for writing. But it is all done so that someday all the people across the globe will have the same pleasure and privilege to watch their own children and grandchildren grow and share their own unique gifts, as Nick and his wife do with theirs.
